Course Overview

This course gives you the skill and knowledge to relight Type A gas appliances with manufacturer lighting instructions and workplace procedures. You will also become competant in disconnecting and reconnecting small capacity gas meters and read and record all information

Course Prerequisites

There are no entry requirements for this unit but participants need to be over 18 years of age and will be subjected to a pre training review to confirm suitability.

Delivery Modes

This unit is available in a classroom environment and has a practical component and also additional work place visits. (Onsites)

1 day plus workplace visits within a two month period

Course Content

• Prepare to conduct a Type A gas appliance relight
• Carry out an installation tightness test and an appliance relight
• Prepare to disconnect, replace and reconnect gas meters
• Disconnect, replace and reconnect gas meters
• Plan and record meter reading routine/sequence
• Carry out meter reding process
• Complete work and relevant documentation

Assessment

Assessment consists of Q&A theory, practicals and observations.
