UEGNSG004 – Locate, prove and protect utility assets.

UEGNSG219 – Conduct excavations in the utilities industry.

Course Overview

This unit will provide a sound knowledge and skill base for you to begin a career within the Gas Supply Industry. You will be provided with the skills and knowledge required to locate, prove and protect utility assets and complete excavation work with documents relevant to the utility industry.

Course Prerequisites

There are no entry requirements for this unit but participants need to be over 18 years of age and will be subjected to a pre training review to confirm suitability.

Delivery Modes

This unit is available in a classroom environment and has a practical component and also additional work place visits. (Onsites)

Course Duration

1 day plus workplace visits within a two month period.

$170.00 per person

Course Content

• Locate and prove utility assets.
• Short term protection of assets on worksites where utility industry operations occur.
• Site preparation and planning which includes traffic control.
• Excavation and back filling work in accordance with relevant legislation, industry standards, codes of practice and workplace procedures.

Assessment

Assessment consists of Q&A practicals,theory and observations. This is completed practically within the classroom and undertaking of workplace specific observations in the field. (Onsites)

Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive:
